BONES

BONES

Part performance artist, part ego drenched rock star, Bones rips delta blues with punks intensity, and throws in a little stripper jazz for color. With the delivery of a storefront preacher, The Man Named Bones (the alter ego of one Michael Miller) sings, screams and growls Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll with tongue firmly in cheek. Armed with an upright bass, an electric guitar, a sampler and a drum machine, Bones is a one man blues/punk machine. ..

The Bugz

THE BUGZ

Not to be mistaken with The BugS. The BugZ from Pisa, Italy is a proof that pizza and jeans with lots of pockets is not the only thing coming out of Italy.

The Bugs

THE BUGS

A band that not too many people know about is The Bugs from Portland, Oregon. This minimalistic duo are making some really small, but catchy tunes. They are definitely worth checking out. They are on Hovercraft records.

We wanna be dogs

According to some, the best song ever written. I Wanna Be Your Dog by the all mighty The Stooges. Nothing comes close to the original, but here is The Black Angels and Sonic Youth covering the song. Damn good as well!

The best band to come out of Texas for years, The Black Angels, wants to be our dog as well.

What can we say? Sonic Youth.

Must the Fuzz be with you!

The best band in history to never give out a record

The Groupies were from New York City--bad boys with a hard musical edge-- bluesier than the Rolling Stones, who could have been considered pretty, standing next to the Groupies.  They were scruffy and arrogant and had been spoiled rotten by Ahmet Ertegan, president then, of Atlantic Records.

At one time, the Groupies were the number two band in New York--the Rascals being number one. This is unusual because the Groupies did not have a hit record. Their reputation was built solely on their live performances.  Everybody, including Ahmet, figured they had a big career ahead, but the Groupies kept screwing up. One of the worst screw-ups, was when they were scheduled for a concert appearance in Philadelphia.  The Groupies cashed in the plane tickets and flew to Los Angeles instead. That may have been the straw that broke Ahmet's backing. The Groupies, however, were only sixteen and seventeen years old, and had no handle on responsibility.

Never gets old
